Hilo House Rules
These House Rules are part of the Hilo Membership Agreement and apply to every member and day-pass holder. Hilo is often unstaffed, so the room works only if everyone follows them.
-
Your digital key is yours alone. Don't share it, lend your phone, or let anyone use your account.
Don't hold the door for anyone or let someone follow you in, even if you know them. Everyone enters with their own credential.
Never prop open the suite door or the building entrance.
Use only the building entrance and elevators Hilo or the building designates. Don't gather in the lobby, hallways, elevators, or on the sidewalk outside.
Hilo is open 24/7, but it may have no staff on site, especially late at night and early in the morning. Come and go quietly; other tenants share the building.
If you're the last to leave, turn off the table lights and make sure the door closes and locks behind you.
Report a lost phone, a compromised key, or anyone who entered without authorization to hello@hilopoolroom.com right away.
Members must be 21 or older. Hilo may ask for ID.

Hilo has four 9-foot tables:
2 reservation tables: members only; book in the member portal.
1 flexible table: members, and day-pass holders when it isn't reserved; used for bookings or social play, as Hilo sets it.
1 social table: members and day-pass holders; player list, winner stays.
Reservations
Book up to 7 days ahead, for up to 2 hours per booking.
Hold no more than 2 future reservations at a time.
Check in within 15 minutes of your start time, or the table may be released.
Cancel at least 4 hours before your start time.
Repeated no-shows or late cancellations can lead to booking limits.
When your time is up, finish your game and clear the table for the next booking.
Social play
Add your name to the player list to get on the social table.
Each turn is one game. The winner stays; the next person on the list plays.
Don't hold spots for people who aren't in the room.
Table care
Brush or vacuum the table when you finish.
Run the balls through the ball polisher before racking them.
No food or drinks on or next to the tables, and don't sit on the rails.
Don't move tables or lights, and don't try to fix anything yourself. Report damage instead.
-
To bring a guest, buy them a member-guest day pass online in advance for $40 (a regular day pass is $50). Hilo approves each pass. There are no walk-ins.
Guests must be 21 or older and follow these rules. You're responsible for your guest while they're here.
Day-pass holders may use the social table and, when it isn't reserved, the flexible table.
Coaching, lessons, events, filming, and selling anything require Hilo's written approval first.
-
Eat only in the seating area, never at the tables.
No cooking. The fridge, microwave, and coffee maker are shared; use them and leave them clean.
Label anything you leave in the fridge with your name and the date. Unlabeled or expired food may be thrown out.
Take your trash with you or use the bins provided. Wipe up spills right away.
Meet delivery drivers at the building entrance. Drivers can't come up to the club, and you can't give them a code or key.
-
Hilo is a pool room first, so expect the sound of play and conversation. It isn't a quiet office.
House music stays at background level. Use headphones for your own music or video.
Keep calls short and quiet. Don't take calls in the building hallways or lobby.
Don't save seats or work spots with your belongings when you step away for long.
Wi-Fi and outlets are shared. Don't run heavy downloads or streams that slow the network for others.
-
Cue lockers are a separate monthly rental, when available. Use them for cues and billiards accessories only.
House cues, chalk, and racks stay in the room. Return them to their racks when you're done.
Stop using any equipment that looks damaged and report it.
Keep valuables with you. Hilo isn't responsible for lost or stolen items, except as the law requires.
Items left behind may be held for 30 days, then donated or discarded.
-
In an emergency, call 911 first, then tell Hilo at hello@hilopoolroom.com.
Know where the exits, fire extinguisher, and first-aid kit are. Keep exits and walkways clear at all times.
Follow posted evacuation instructions and any instruction from building staff or emergency responders.
Report injuries, hazards, and security problems as soon as you safely can.
Cameras record the common areas and entrance (never the restrooms). Hilo doesn't watch them live, so don't rely on them for help.
-
Smoking or vaping of any kind
Weapons, illegal drugs, open flames, or dangerous materials
Animals, except service animals
Gambling or betting
Harassment, threats, fighting, or discrimination of any kind
Bringing in outside items that Hilo has asked members not to bring
-
Hilo may give a warning, limit bookings, suspend, or end a membership for breaking these rules, as described in the Membership Agreement. Serious or dangerous conduct can lead to immediate removal. Hilo may update these House Rules with notice to members.
